The new Visitor Center of Rila NP was officially opened in Blagoevgrad

On February 24, 2020, the Rila National Park Directorate opened officially its new Visitor and Information Center. It was built under the project BIO2CARE – Reinforcing Protected Areas Capacity through an Innovative Methodology for Sustainability which is financed by the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Greece – Bulgaria 2014 – 2020.

The event was attended by representatives of the other Bulgarian project partners – the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Waters in Blagoevgrad, the Southwest University of Neofit Rilski and the Pirin Tourism Forum, as well as the Minister of Environment and Waters, employees of the Park Direcrorate, friends of the National Park and media. The Center will be used for tourist and educational purposes, and the first seminars under the BIO2CARE project are starting shortly after the official opening.
